On Nov. 20 and 21, some 25 delegations making up 501 athletes and 207 coaches/chaperones competed in basketball and bowling for the 2009 Holiday Classic state basketball and south regional bowling competitions.
On Sept. 25th, dozens of SONM fans went Over The Edge for SONM, which involved a 16 story rappel down the side of the NM Bank and Trust building in downtown Abq. The event raised over $63,000 in just its first year. Photos by Vanessa Sanchez.
On Thursday, Sept. 10th dozens of Law Enforcement Torch Run officers raided Applebee's restaurants in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho for Special Olympics New Mexico. The result was fun times all around.

Special Olympics New Mexico and UNM Athletics announced earlier this year a new partnership to promote the joys of sport throughout New Mexico. Part of the partnership includes a Lobo Tour where SONM athletes and UNM coaches gather together for a day of sports lecture and demonstration.
On March 19, 2009 over 70 LETR officers served meals and drinks to Applebee's patrons in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Las Cruces. The LETR March Tip-a-Cop raised nearly $17,000, beating last year's mark by $2,000.
The 2008 Posole Ole Fun Walk brought hundreds of SONM fans to the Albuquerque International Balloon Museum to support the athletes and families of Special Olympics New Mexico. The event raised $21,000. Photos courtesy of Peggy Boyar.
